In 1932, Japanese imperialism, in its efforts to divide and enslave China, supported the last emperor of the Qing Dynasty, Puyi, in establishing the puppet state of Manchukuo in Northeast China. However, under the yoke of this puppet regime, mysterious and strange occurrences frequently took place, with all clues pointing to the enigmatic Shamanism. The Japanese Kwantung Army's Special Intelligence Section, in order to investigate the truth, gathered folk practitioners and established a dedicated investigative department known as the Secret Search Division.
